After fourteen grueling stages at the 2013 Dakar rally from Lima, Peru to Santiago, Chile, Team Toyo drivers Robby Gordon, Nasser Al-Attiyah, and Carlos Sainz racked up 13 podium finishes with 6 of them being 1st place. We are very proud of everyone that competed and look forward to 2014!

Another stage win for Robby Gordon. Robby started 2nd off the line and never look back, he lead the entire race with no threat in sight. Look for Robby running in the front in tomorrows final stage of the Dakar Rally.

Stage 9 is in the books and unfortunately it was another difficult chapter for Team Toyo.  After a strong start, the team has run into problems causing them to shrink in numbers and fall significantly behind the leader.

Today's stage came after a rest day, and was the longest of the rally.  The course took racers through Argentina, from San Miguel de Tucuman to Cordoba.

Robby Gordon gets a 3rd place podium in stage 7 and continues on his quest for stage wins. Nasser Al-Attiyah brings the heat, he continues to run second just 3:14 behind the leader in the over all standings.

Nasser continues to move forward and dominate stages, winning stages 3,4 and 6. He continues to pressure the leader and has shortened the gap to a close minute and eighteen seconds. Nasser stated, "We did a good job and I'm quite happy to be here, without any mistakes, the car working very well, the tyres were really good, and I'm quite happy with everything. "

Team Toyo continues to make its mark at the 2013 Dakar.  Robby Gordon finished the stage in 3rd today and Carlos Sainz finished 5th.  The stage was a long one, taking the racers from Peru into Chile.  Nasser Al-Attiyah sits in 2nd Overall right now and with nine stages left to go it is still anyone's race!

Nasser Al-Attiyah has done it again by winning the Stage 4 route from Nazca to Arequipa. The dunes were very difficult but Nasser was able to finish the stage with out any problems or mistakes.  A very happy Al-Attiyah stated, "Tomorrow I don't think it will be difficult. Maybe we will lose a bit of time, but I think tomorrow it doesn't matter if we lose a little or not because I will try and keep it tight until we cross into Chile." Make sure to check back tomorrow to see how this will unfold.

The 2013 Dakar Rally is in full swing and we are excited to announce that Team Toyo has won the 1st three stages and captured a total of five podium finishes!

Carlos Sainz won the short 13km Stage 1 from Lima to Pisco on Saturday, while Nasser Al-Attiyah took third.  Sunday, Carlos once again took 1st place after controversy surrounding his ASO-issued GPS system.  At the same time, Robby made a strong charge and passed most of the field of competitors to finish 13th for the day.

At the end of Stage 2, a visibly upset Carlos Sainz was seen talking with teammate Nasser Al-Attiyah indicating that there was something wrong with the GPS. With what appeared to be a navigational error, Sainz would end up falling back to 10th overall in the car class. According to Sainz, "We need to have a look at the GPS, there may be something wrong with it.

Congrats to Carlos Sainz! He won the 13km Stage 1 today on Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires. Nasser finished 10 seconds behind, tied for 3rd.  Eric Vigouroux came in 41st and Robby came in 115th. Robby had to pull over a few km into the stage  - more details to come we are sure.  Check back later for a video and follow us on Instagram for more photos (@toyotires).
