Ideally, you won’t even notice how smooth the ride is
It’s hard to see good things in a noisy, rough tire. Take pipe resonance—an annoying whistle that occurs at high speed. Nobody likes it, so we created Silent Wall technology to reduce the noise. We also developed our Advanced Tire Operation Module (ATOM) to build extremely uniformed and balanced tires that ride more smoothly and wear more evenly. All of these things—and a lot more—go into making tires that you barely even notice.
Silent Wall technology, found in many of our tires, put tiny serrations in the tread walls to disrupt the air as it flows through and reduce the noise.
In conventional groove wall tire design, noise is easily generated as it moves through the tread walls without being disturbed.
